BRASSROOTS sign with Canadian label Do Right Music
Yes that's right, BRASSROOTS have signed with the Canadian label Do Right Music, home of bands like The Souljazz Orchestra and Abdominal. An EP has been released digitally already, and will be coming on vinyl soon!
Charly played on a couple of tracks on fantastic London artist Gavin Holligan's latest EP 'We're Coming', including on the banging track 'You Should Be My Wife'!
BRASSROOTS are the house band on the last ever Big Brother on Channel 4!
Yes that's right, last week BRASSROOTS were the house band on the last ever Big Brother on Channel 4. After going for 12 years, this was a momentous occassion, and we were very chuffed to be asked. Davina, the director and all the production staff were lovely and it's a moment I'm sure we will all remember!
Whilst on the Big Brother set, we managed to meet Coolio. A very nice, funny guy. We talked about maybe doing Gangsta's Paradise together, so got it ready for the wrap party a few days later. As soon as we started it, he enthusiastically rocked up to the mic and went for it! He even conducted the band! The best part is, he seemed as impressed as we were, and promised to stay in touch!
This is particularly amazing for me as Gangsta's Paradise was the first single I ever brought!
